Right after breakfast we head to the regional boat (with cabins). This trip will be taken you to visit a special ecological complex of the Rainforests, we are going to show you exclusively the Várzea floodplain which has high diversity of habitats and is considered the most species-rich floodplain forests worldwide (Wittmann et al 2006). At 05:40 am we are going to explore the environment by canoing through the creeks and floodedforest. There the floodplains landscape is the result of the hydro-geomorphologic dynamism of the river system and the precipitation regime leads to water-level oscillations of the Amazon river and its main tributaries (Junk et al.1989). So we explore at the well-defined high-water (aquatic phase) level, because it is during this period that we get closer to the canopy and by canoe paddle we have the chance to see the animals. Lunch is served at 12:00 pm (noon), in the afternoon we sailing towards Negro river (the largest black water river in the world) which is a region with higher lands not subject to flooding, with tall trees with intertwined crowns. This is the environment of the world where the largest diversity of forests is the most preserved, as well as the largest conservation Units in the country are located: The Pico da Neblina National Park, the Jaú National Park, the Anavilhanas National Park and the Amnã Sustainable Reserve (Rylands et al 2002).
